AS stories seeks to collect and share biographies from those with Aspergers syndrome who have used the qualities and capabilities it can bring to enrich their lives.
Many websites offer information and forums for those on the autistic spectrum Aspergers Syndrome links but in the absence of a site dedicated to personal stories, AS stories took shape after the death of Finn Higgins.
Finn took his life on February 11th 2008 at Mount Victoria, Wellington, New Zealand aged 26.
He is one of many young people with Aspergers syndrome whose early death, through suicide, has devastated their families and friends.
Depression often accompanies Aspergers syndrome. It can be overwhelming and lead to thoughts of suicide. Many struggle to visualise a positive future . The experiences and suggestions of those with Aspergers who, despite its difficulties, enjoy a good quality of life may assist others .
